Coastal road work likely to be completed next month

Muscat: Work on Khasab’s coastal road gangway, located in Musandam Governorate, is expected to be completed by the end of October this year, a statement issued by the Musandam governor's office revealed.

In a statement, the office said: "His excellency the governor of Musandam visited the coastal road pathway project which is located in wilayat Khasab and is expected to be ready at the end of October. During the visit, HE the governor checked out the project which is 1.5 Km long."

According to Oman’s Ministry of Transport & Communications website, Khasab’s coastal road improvement project started on February 10th 2015. This road is expected to serve the tourism and commerce sectors in Oman.

Based on the Ministry of Information website, 40 million Omani Rials is the total cost of the project. This project will help car drivers avoid excessive bends and rock falls on some road routes.

Earlier in April 2019, a rock-fall on the Khasab-Bukha road in Musandam had occurred and the Royal Oman Police had advised motorists to take caution.
