More than 600 samples go under scanner during first quarter of this year

Muscat: More than 600 samples were tested by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry during the first quarter of this year.

According to the Ministry the number of samples increased to 628 compared to 622 samples during the same period in 2018.

The statistics department of the ministry indicated that the number of samples examined in the microbiology laboratory during the first quarter of the current year was 326, compared to 257 samples during the same period in 2018.

The number of samples tested in the physics and building materials laboratory this year was 96, compared to the 92 samples in the same period last year.

The number of samples examined in the laboratory of household appliances during the first quarter of this year was 45 samples, while last year there were 34 samples tested.

There were 13 samples examined in the food chemical laboratory during the first quarter of the year 2019, compared with 28 samples tested during the same period last year.

The number of samples examined in the general chemical laboratory during the first quarter of this year was 148, compared with 211 of the same period last year.
