Oman Olympic Committee celebrates International Yoga Day

Muscat: Oman Olympic Committee represented by Oman Sport and Active Society Committee in cooperation with the Indian embassy in the Sultanate and Art of Living celebrates today the International Yoga Day at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, Nizwa Sport Complex, Jindal Shadeed Township Hall in Sohar and Indian Social Club in Salalah.

Several countries in the world will also celebrate this day under the theme “Yoga for Peace” which the UN General Assembly had announced on December 11, 2014 and which is endorsed by more than 177 UN member counties.

Fareed bin Khamis Al Jadjali, Chairman of Oman Sport and Active Society Committee, in the presence of Rudainah Al Hajriyah, member of Oman Sport and Active Society Committee, met last Wednesday with Munu Mahwar, Indian ambassador to the Sultanate, and coordinators of Art of Living and discussed the recent preparations for the event.

However, Oman Sport and Active Society Committee held yesterday its 5th meeting for this year in the presence of OOC General Secretariat and Executive Management in order to announce the calendar for the rest of the year.
