Waves to affect coastal areas in Oman

Muscat: Sea waves will rise to an average height of two metres on Wednesday and Thursday along the coastline of the Sea of Oman.

Oman Meteorology has forecast the rise, citing activity of the south-eastern winds (winds of Al Koos) coinciding with a rise in sea levels by 3.2 metres.

In an online statement, the Meteorology Department at the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) said, “This could lead to the passage and crossing of seawater in the low-lying areas.”
