MoFA Oman calls for restraint after Abha airport attack

Muscat: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has issued a statement on the Abha airport attack that took place on Wednesday.

According to Oman TV, an official source at the MoFA said that the Sultanate was tracking the military escalation following the attack with great interest. It also had an eye on the field events related to the war in Yemen, the latest of which was the attack on Abha airport in Saudi Arabia.

"The Sultanate urges avoiding escalation that will not be in the interest of security and stability in the region. It hopes that during the next phase the focus will be on the political path led by the United Nations in order to achieve a political settlement of the crisis in the brotherly Republic of Yemen, preserving the security and interests of its neighbors," the statement added.
