Muscat: Indian Budget carrier GoAir will operate daily flights from Muscat International Airport to Kannur International Airport from May 30, 2019.
Currently, the airline operates three flights a week to Kannur.
Air India Express also operates three flights a week to the northern part of Kerala from Muscat.
Jeh Wadia, Managing Director, GoAir, said: “Ever since GoAir introduced direct flights from Muscat to Kannur, tour operators have been demanding daily frequency. We are pleased to accommodate their demand and announce daily frequencies on these routes. It also coincides with Ramadan in the Gulf region which concludes with Eid – this is the time when families and individuals visit home and so there is increased travel between Gulf countries and India.”
He said: “GoAir flights have become a way of life for Indians in Muscat who have their families based in India and I am happy to see that GoAir has bridged this distance and has brought them closer. Muscat airport has become an integral part of GoAir’s growth in the region and we take this opportunity to thank the officials for their support.”
