Video: Expat attempts to cross dangerous wadi during floods

Muscat: A video has surfaced of an expat dangerously cycling through a wadi earlier this morning in Wilayat Al Kamil Wa Al Wafi, despite continuous warnings by authorities to not cross flood-hit areas

The Royal Oman Police Police and the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance have issued several warnings advising people not to cross active Wadis. This morning, the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance has announced its efforts to search for an expat family of six in the Wilayat of Wadi Bani Khalid in Al Sharqiyah.

A spokesman for the authority told Times of Oman, "We had searched for missing people last night but as time went on, the search was discontinued and resumed early in the morning due to visibility concerns."

According to a statement by PACDA, the missing family's vehicle "was dragged away by the flood waters of Wadi Al Wudd in the Wilayat of Wadi Bani Khalid." It added that the family "was made up of six people from an Asian nationality."
