Oman tourism: Snow Village to greet visitors at Fun Zone

Muscat: This winter, Fun Zone is planning more fun-filled activities for visitors. From January 20 onwards, an event called Snow Village will welcome the visitors to Fun Zone.
According to Fun Zone officials, the event will be a part of the Muscat Festival.
“We are proud to announce that this (snow village) will be an additional gem in the Muscat Festival,” told Syed Aamir, operations manager of Fun Zone told the Times of Oman.
“For 10 days, Fun Zone will be converted into a Snow Village,” he added.

It will be free of charge for the people of Sultanate and help in the promotion of domestic tourism.
“There is no entry fee for the Snow Village but other businesses will charge visitors for activities, such as bowling, ice skating etc.,” Aamir said.
A snow cave entrance, clan deer elk, snow castle etc. will add loveliness to the Snow Village.

By now, 60 per cent of the mall is covered with ice for ice skating and there will be a variety of activities this winter in the Mall.
“Basically, we want to bring snow to the dessert; that is the idea behind this event,” the Aamir asserted.
The venue is targeting children and teenagers for this winter.
“Our main focus is to attract children, especially teenagers and younger ones; we have activities to attract people from all age groups” Aamir stated.
Ice skating, snooker, bowling, billiards, video games are some of the main attractions of the Fun Zone.
The event will end on January 30.
Sheikh Mohammed Rashad Al Hinai, member of the Board of Directors, officially announced the Snow Village event before the public at the Fun Zone yesterday.
Many dignitaries and special guests were present during the announcement.
