Muscat: Nine governorates in Oman could experience heavy rains between 30 to 75 millimetres, which may lead to overflow in the wadis, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) announced.

PACA has issued a heavy rain alert which showed the range of rainfall in some areas over the next 24 hours.

In a statement, Oman's meteorology authority said,"Due to the potential thunderous heavy rains which are expected to fall in the next 24 hours, in some areas heavy rains will range from 30 to 75 millimetres accompanied by active winds, and hailstones, leading to the flow of certain wadis in the governorates of Muscat, Musandam, Nothern Batinah, Southern Batinah, A'Dhakiliyah, Northern and southern Sharqiyah, Adhahirah, and Buraimi."

"The Public Authority for Civil Aviation would like to warn the public to take caution during thunderous rainfall, not to cross any wadis, avoid low areas, and do not sail," PACA added.
