Muscat: Residents, citizens and tourists who take Mwasalat taxis from Muscat International Airport can now pay their taxi bills at payment kiosks set up in the airport.
The plan is expected to be soon rolled out across all Mwasalat Taxis in the Sultanate as well.
A statement by Mwasalat read, "Starting today, you will be able to pay electronically using payment terminals at Mwasalat taxis at Muscat International Airport."
The service was made in coordination with the National Bank of Oman, after an agreement was signed by National Bank of Oman (NBO) and Mwasalat.
Mwasalat currently has a fleet of 150 airport taxis. Drivers are set to be trained in how to use the NBO point-of-sale (POS) terminals. The secure system, which will also accept contactless card payments, will later be available in all Mwasalat taxis across the Sultanate.
