4.8 magnitude quake jolts Arabian Sea

MUSCAT: An earthquake struck off the coast of Oman, in the Arabian Sea. at mid night on Friday, according to the earthquake Monitorying Centre at Sultan Qaboos University.

No detail was given about the distance from the Sultanate.

In an online statement, the Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC), said: "An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale in the Arabian Sea at 12:39 am Sultanate time.”
