Muscat: More than OMR800,000 was recovered by the consumer watchdog in Muscat last year.
The Complaints Department at the Public Authority for Consumer Protection received a total of OMR888,0495 worth of refunds in 2018.
The collections are part of the authority's efforts to resolve complaints through its various means.
Fifty five (55) per cent of all the money recovered came from the automotive sector, amounting a sum of OMR484,984, followed by the labour sector with 18 per cent.
A total of 371 items were returned, which included vehicles and electronic devices.
The department in Muscat received 3,185 complaints last year in the automotive sector, the electronics sector, and the goods and other services sector.
