Muscat: With the aim of promoting scientific research and advanced statistical analysis of surveys, the Information Technology Authority (ITA) signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Modern College of Business and Science MCBS at the college headquarter.
In accordance with the MoC, ITA and MCBS will form a joint collaboration in exploring research opportunities. under the MoC, MCBS will provide advanced statistical analysis for some surveys conducted by ITA as well as offering specialised training to ITA’s staff and expertise and consultation in specialized projects; whereas ITA will offer internship opportunities for MCBS students.
The MoC has been signed in the Modern College of Business and Science premises in Bousher by Omar Bin Salim Alshanfari, deputy CEO of ITA for Operations, and Dr Abood bin Hamed Al Sawafi, Dean of MCBS.
On this occasion, Omar Bin Salim Alshanfari, Deputy CEO of ITA for Operations, said “The memorandum of cooperation came within the ITA efforts in supporting the partnership between the ITA and higher education institutions in the implementation of a number of initiatives and projects under e.oman strategy. This MoU seeks to benefit from the teams specialized in the development of statistical work by bridging the gap between the theoretical and practical work, which will contribute to the improvement of statistical work and benefit from them in achieving the vision of e.oman.”

We hope that our cooperation between us will have mutual benefits for both of us and our students who can gain hands-on experience in statistical field," Dr Abood bin Hamed Al Sawafi, the Dean of Modern College of Business and Science mentioned.
This MoC promotes knowledge and research cooperation between ITA and MCBS in order to benefit from the statistical data in information communication technologies field in the preparation of advanced studies and specialised working papers in this area providing knowledge resources on the ICT status in the Sultanate along with scientific proofs that can be used as bases for decision-making.
