Municipality continues tackling dengue-causing mosquitoes in Oman

Muscat: Municipal authorities in Oman have intensified their efforts to combat dengue-causing mosquitoes in the Sultanate.

Methods such as hot fogging and cold ultra-low volume insecticide spraying machines are being used to eliminate mosquitoes.

In a statement online municipal officials said, “The municipality in Seeb has intensified their inspection against the Aedes aegypti mosquito using hot fogging and cold ultra-low volume spraying machines with pyrethroid insecticides as precautionary steps to combat mosquito breeding sites in the Wilayats.”

As part of their efforts, authorities will now be moving to Azaiba, Ghala, Ghubra and north and south Al Khuwair to keep a check on the mosquito population.
