Nepal bans use of Indian currency above INR100

Muscat: The government of Nepal has banned the use of Indian currency above INR100, Nepal’s Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Baskota has said.
Notes of INR200, INR500 and INR2,000 denominations will not be valid in Nepal anymore.
This decision could affect Indian tourists visiting Nepal from Oman and other parts of the world.
The Indian government introduced notes of INR200, INR2,000 and a new series of INR500 denominations after demonetisation in 2016.
