Muscat: More than 60 dogs of different breeds will wow visitors at a dog show to be held on December 15 at Muscat Hills.
Organised by Muscat K-9, a local team of dog breeders and trainers, the third edition of the annual competition will start at 2pm and conclude at 6pm.
During the event, visitors will be able to get a first-hand look at rare breeds that require special care and attention such as Caucasian Shepherds, Presa Canario, German Shepherds Rottweilers and more.
“Breeders and trainers will share their experiences with the public and educate dog owners on the proper techniques required while taking care of their pets, showering schedules, walks, types of kennels needed and more,” said Sami Al Wahaibi, head of the group.
He added that all participants will receive certificates and winners will receive medals.
The winning dog will be announced by a jury. “The reason behind organising such an event is to raise awareness about the importance of animal welfare. Training a dog is a hobby that also teaches people how to take responsibility,” said Al Wahaibi.
