Muscat: More than 100 expat workers have been deported and another 196 have been arrested for violating Labour Laws, Oman's Ministry of Manpower has announced.
The workers were arrested between November 18 and 24, 2018, the Ministry revealed in its weekly indicators of expat workers who were arrested through a joint operation.
Of the total violators, 63 were “freelance” workers, 63 had left their jobs, and 22 workers were referred to by other agencies.
Muscat, recorded the highest number of arrests with 96, followed by Northern Al Batinah with 36.
Meanwhile, the Ministry deported 102 workers, "As a result of violating the provisions of the Labour Law," officials said.
