Muscat: Oman’s blood bank services have refuted rumours and have stated that no patient is charged for blood that the bank dispenses.
The blood bank services cleared the air after rumours about patients being charged were circulated on social media.
In a statement online, officials said, “In reference to what has been circulated on social media about the collection of cash for blood that is being dispensed to patients, we affirm that all blood units are given to patients free of charge, without any money compensation. The department has worked since 1996 to not link its work with any material aspect.”
