Oman weather: Rains to continue, PACA says

Muscat: Northern Oman will continue to experience heavy rains until Wednesday, October 31, 2018, Oman Meteorology announced.
In a statement online, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation said, "The latest analysis of the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre indicates that the Sultanate will continue to be affected by low pressure until Wednesday, with the possibility of heavy rainfall, sometimes accompanied by active winds and hail on most northern governorates of the Sultanate."
Governorates of Musandam, Buraimi, Dhahirah, North and South Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat and North and South Shariqyah have all experienced rain and occasional thundershowers since Friday, October 26. Earlier reports showed that the low pressure would affect the Sultanate only until Tuesday.
Since the beginning of the current weather event until October 29, the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance has responded to 52 rescue calls. Eleven of these were cases of residents being stranded by wadis. There were also eight cases of fires, 29 cases that required ambulance interventions, and 4 other miscellaneous cases.
