Tender for livestock, slaughterhouse soon

Muscat: The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources said that it would soon announce a public tender for the establishment and operation of the Central Market for Livestock and Slaughterhouse and its accessories in the Wilayat of Suwaiq in the Governorate of North Al Batinah.
The ministry added, “This project, which will include several stages, comes in line with the aspirations of the Ministry towards developing the municipal work system and providing services to a better level in accordance with the development plans.
The project also supports the economy and achieves integration between food security projects and to make the Oman an attractive centre for import and re-export.
It also attracts the private sector in investment projects to contribute actively to the development and the establishment of added-value industries, in addition to economic and commercial benefit from Omani ports and provide employment for young Omanis, as well as supporting SMEs”.
The ministry said “The selection of the Wilayat of A’Suwaiq for the establishment of this project as it enjoys a location linking a number of governorates of the Sultanate, and the wilaya has recently witnessed the commercial operation of A’Suwaiq Port, which will in turn contribute to the activation of economic movement and the reception of various types of goods, including livestock.”
