Muscat: The Royal Oman Police has issued an explanatory photo for pregnant women on the right way to fasten their seat belts while travelling in cars.
ROP said that some women use the excuse that their stomachs are too big to fasten seat belts and thus opt out of it. However, police officials have said that pregnant women are at a higher risk of getting injured.
In a statement online, ROP said, “Experts advise pregnant women to constantly fasten their seat belt, as studies have indicated that the mother and foetus are at greater risk if the belt is not secured."
According to the explanatory image, women should ensure that the bottom belt is fastened under the stomach and not over it.
