Noted Indian filmmaker Mrinal Sen passes away at 95

Muscat: Noted Indian filmmaker Mrinal Sen passed away at the age of 95 in India on Sunday morning.
Sen a noted Bengali filmmaker was based in Kolkata. Along with his contemporaries Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak, he was often considered as one of the greatest ambassadors of Bengali parallel cinema on the global stage.
Some of the famous films include Akash Kusum (1965), Bhuvan Shome (1969), Mrigayaa (1976), Calcutta 71 (1971), Ek Din Pratidin (1980), Akaler Sandhane (1980), Khandhar (1984) and Antareen (1993).
