MUSCAT: A breezy 51 not out by Omar Sarfraz steered Ernst & Young to an easy 8-wicket victory against MCCC New in a B Division match at Muscat Municipality ground 1 in Amerat on Friday.
Batting first, MCCC side was skittled out for only 112 in 23.4 overs. Arjun Vinesh and Rajan Berry scored 25 and 22 respectively. Vishak Jayakumar, Alkesh Joshi and Rana Zeeshan picked up two wickets each.
Ernst & Young raced to the target in the 12th over, scoring 116 for 2 thanks to Omar’s brilliant knock. Mohammed Nayaz batted well too for his unbeaten 29.

Satham Hussain saw Al Fairuz to a comfortable 6-wicket win over SAS & Partners in a C Division game at Muscat Municipality ground 2.
Facing 143 to win, Al Fairuz reached the target in the 18th over thanks to Satham’s superb 69 off 54. Ranjith Kumar contributed solid 37 off 24.

Yusuf shines for Bank Muscat
Talented Omani all-rounder Yousuf Al Balushi powered Bank Muscat to an exciting 6-wicket win against Aptus CT in a D Division clash at Muscat Municipality ground 3.
Batting first, Aptus scored a robust 164 for 8 in 20 overs with Harish Mohan (42) and Vijesh Latha (34) being the main scorers. Ashish Gupta and Yousuf bowled well to claim 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Bank Muscat went about chasing the target in a calculated way, scoring 165 for 4 in the final over. Yousuf led the way with a solid 51 while Lakshay Awasthi and Abbas Al Balushi contributed 43 and 37 not out respectively.

Wasim stars in Ideal’s win
Ideal International rode another sterling all-round show by Wasim Abdul Karim to defeat Al Rehwan by 21 runs in an E Division clash at Muscat Municipality ground 1.
Ideal amassed 210 for 5 in 20 overs thanks to Wasim’s hurricane 75 off 39 balls.Faizan Muhammed batted well too for his strokeful 56 that included three big sixes.
Al Rehwan fought well but fell short by 21 runs, getting dismissed for 189 in the 19th over. Sabeer Puthan and Mohammed Shanid scored 37 and 31 runs respectively. Frahan Syed was the most successful Ideal bowler, taking 3 for 28. Wasim bowled well too, picking up 3 for 31.
