MUSCAT: Oman’s latest driving sensation 7-year-old Shonal Kunimal of Indian School Al Ghubra- International won the first round of the Dubai Bambino Cup powered by IAME X30 2018-19 recently held at the Dubai Kartdrome, UAE clocking a lap time of 1:19.828 secs in Heat 4.
Shonal finished both the pre-final and final heats in the first place taking full points of 50 in the four heats that was held. He scored total of 186 points in Round 1 of Dubai Bambino Cup.
Shonal Kunimal took the top spot followed by Anthony Joe Khalil in second place with 176 points and Kareem Azzi in third position with 158 points with another four rounds left in the race season.
Shonal Kunimal, who is the Overall Champion of 2017-18 UAE Rotax Max Challenge Championship is also runners up of the 2017-18 IAME X30 Championship in the Bambino Category.
Shonal is happy about the new race season as he is competing in a total of three championships, the UAE Rotax Max Challenge, IAME X30 Championship and the Dubai Bambino Cup with the total of 19 races.
