Muscat: The Consumer Protection Department in Seeb managed to recover more than OMR24,971.900 for a number of consumers in September this year.
Labour services sector topped the list of sectors with the most recoveries, with a total of OMR8,154.
Ziad Al Wahaibi, Director of the Complaints Department said: "This recovered amount came as a result of the authority's efforts in protecting consumer rights and for the resolution of complaints that we received, noting that the department is working hard to carry out its mission to protect the rights of consumers in accordance with legal procedures in this regard."
Statistics indicate that the returns were distributed across a number of sectors. The labour services sector was followed by the furniture and furnishings stores industry, with OMR5,360 in returns, and the automobile sector, with a total amount of OMR3,250 in recoveries.
In the clothing and textiles sector, OMR1,690 was recovered, while OMR1,311 was recovered in the vehicle repair workshops sector. Recoveries from complaints filed in the electrical appliances, telephones, and services sector, and other sectors came up to OMR4,256.900.
