Muscat: Omanexpo is preparing to hold the 13th edition of the Food and Hospitality Oman Exhibition from October 15-17 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The annual trade show, recognised as the landmark event in Oman for the food and hospitality industry, will once again offer its audience some 400 top local and international brands from close to 100 companies.
The brands, representing 16 exhibiting countries, cover the entire gamut of the food and hospitality sector, with products and services relating to food, beverages, agriculture and fisheries, ingredients and seasoning, catering and kitchen equipment, packaging systems, resort and spa facilities, hotel décor, hotel and hospitality technologies, Horeca furniture and services, and food processing technologies.
Highlighting the exhibition are country representations from Belarus, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Italy, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Thailand and the UAE. There will also be a dedicated Omani products pavilion featuring the leading food brands in Oman.
A special attraction this year is the first-time participation of Belarusian companies under the theme “Belarus-The Taste of Nature”. These companies are producers of meat and dairy products, as well as food producers. Belarus is known for its high-quality food and food products and gourmet cuisine.
As is customary, this year’s edition will treat the visitors to a showdown of well-renowned and respected chefs in Oman through the highly anticipated Professional Chefs Competition organised in association with Oman Chefs Guild.
The sought-after Oman Barista Competition (an initiative in cooperation with Al Roofoof Hotel Supplies & Trading, Astoria, illy, and National Hospitality Institute) will also be a crowd-drawer after successfully making its mark in the coffee scene after five editions.
Omanexpo has also expanded the show’s offerings by adding a new culinary competition—Battle of the Burgers—the first-ever competition of its kind in Oman hosted by global frozen food company McCain, where the best grilling joints in the country vie for the title “Best Burger in Oman”.
Business-to-business meetings will also be part of the show offering.
Food and Hospitality Oman’s partner and supporter line-up includes Omani Products, Riyada (Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development), Oman Chefs Guild, National Hospitality Institute, Unilever Food Solutions, McCain Foods, and Paramount Middle East Equipment Trading.
The event will be inaugurated by Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamed Al Mahrizi.
