New airfreight terminal at Salalah to open tomorrow

Muscat: The new airfreight building at the Salalah Airport will begin operation on Wednesday, the Ministry of Transport and Communications has said.
The Oman Aviation Services Company, subsidiary of Oman Aviation Group will receive freight applications from the new building from 8:00 AM up to 5:00 PM.
The last freight flight arriving to the existing building will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday and last departing freight flight will be at 11:20 AM of the same date.
The first freight flight arriving at the new building will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday September 12, 2018 while the first departing freight flight will be at 11:20 AM of the same date.
The new building is one of a series of projects which are part of the development of the Muscat and Salalah International Airports whose execution was supervised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The building is equipped with the best international modern facilities to keep pace with the accelerated development and growth in commodities and freight movement in Oman.
The new building is spread over 20,000 square metres and has a capacity to handle 50,000 tonnes per annum. The freight handling capacity can later be expanded to 100,000 tonnes annually.
