MUSCAT: Pakistan XI emerged as champions of the Al Amerat Orange Cricket tournament after defeating Bhatkal XI in a nail-biting the final which was held during the weekend.
Pakistan XI won the toss and put Bhatkal XI into bat who went on to score 118 runs in their stipulated 16 overs.
Set a target of 119 runs to win Pakistan XI in reply chased down the score in 15.5 overs with one ball to spare. Imran Ali of Pakistan XI was adjudged the man of the match in final for his for his unbeaten 41.
M, D. Swaon from Amerat XI was declared the best batsman for scoring 569 runs from 14 matches his award was presented by Strickers XI.
The best bowler award went to Abid Ali from Pakistan XI for taking 30 wickets from 15 matches and was presented his award by Bhatkal XI.
Abrar M., from Bhatkal was handed over with the man of the series for scoring 544 runs and taking 13 wickets. The trophy was sponsored by Challengers CC.
During the prize-giving ceremony Siju from Al Saher LLC and Deepak from Koolcar handed over the trophies to the winners and runners up. Other special awards were handed out during the ceremony.
