Oman share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Tuesday and closed at 4,410.25 points, up by 0.65 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 610.84 points, up by 0.51 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Jazeera Services, up by 2.73 per cent. The top loser was Vision Insurance, which closed lower by 3.33 per cent.
A total number of 550 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.94 million with more than 10.63 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 13 advanced, 10 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR241,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR104,000, while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR346,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.65 per cent to close at 6,854.71 points. National Bank of Oman, Al Madina Takaful, Bank Nizwa, Gulf Investment Services and Bank Muscat were up by 2.7 per cent, 2.15 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 1.09 per cent, respectively. Vision Insurance and Al Ahlia Insurance were down by 3.33 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.18 per cent to close at 5,481.04 points. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering and Voltamp Energy were up by 2.44 per cent, 1.98 per cent and 1.56 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Al Jazeera Steel Products were down by 1.15 per cent and 0.71 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index gained 0.12 per cent to close at 2,374.89 points. Al Jazeera Services, Ooredoo and Omantel were up by 2.73 per cent, 2.4 per cent and 1.57 per cent respectively. Renaissance Services, Phoenix Power, Sohar Power and National Gas were down by 1.87 per cent, 0.87 per cent, 0.85 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively.
