One arrested for using fake Gulf country currency in Oman

Muscat: One person has been arrested after he was caught using fake currency in the wilayat of Suwaiq, Royal Oman Police (ROP) said on Monday.
According to the officials, the accused bought cheap goods with fake gulf currency notes, exchanging them for Omani rials in change.
In a statement online, ROP said, "The Criminal Investigation Department of North Batinah Police Command managed to arrest one person over fake currency in a number of shops in Suwaiq. The culprit bought cheap items in fake GCC currency and recovered the rest in Omani rials."
An official at the ROP, added that after search and investigation, the accused was nabbed in the wilayat of Barka and has been referred to the judicial authorities for further investigation and trial.
