'More tourist arrivals ensured greater reach for road safety campaign in Salalah'

Muscat: The CEO of the Oman Road Safety Association (ORSA) has expressed satisfaction with the response to his organisation’s road safety campaign, which he said was the result of higher tourist arrivals in Salalah.
Ali Al Barwani said the increase in the number of visitors to Salalah has enabled ORSA to reach out to more people and raise awareness about how car seats for children can save lives.

ORSA’s campaign in Salalah started on August 2 and will continue until August 11.
“I think the Salalah campaign has been a success,” said Barwani. “I think it’s a great opportunity to educate people and raise awareness among them, since millions of people make their way to Salalah during Khareef. This time, the turnout here has been impressive. So, that helps.”
“Our main venue is Salalah Garden Mall,” he added. “We arrange entertainment events in the evening. These events also have an awareness aspect to it. We try to educate people as to how simple car safety seats can save the lives of children.”

“We also have people from ORSA who go around and spread awareness, and the response has been good,” remarked Barwani. “People take interest and ask questions. You can see the hashtag that we are using too. It’s #KeepThemSafe.”
