Oman share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 Index largely remained stable at 4,338.36 points with a marginal gain of 0.06 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 616.27 points, up 0.15 per cent. Due to a special deal, Ahli Bank was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Galfar Engineering, up 6.52 per cent was the top gainer while the top loser was Construction Materials, down 3.33 per cent.
A total number of 504 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.40 million with more than 19.1 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 14 advanced, 6 declined and 9 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors switched to net buyers for OMR184,000 followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR17,000, while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR201,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index advanced 0.41 per cent to close at 6,715.70 points. Al Anwar Holding, Gulf Investment Services, Oman & Emirates Holding, Bank Sohar and Al Madina Takaful gained 4.81 per cent, 4.65 per cent, 2.86 per cent, 1.64 per cent and 1.09 per cent respectively. DBIH and National Bank of Oman declined 2.17 per cent and 1.75 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.64 per cent to finish the session at 5,639.26 points. Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement increased 6.52 per cent, 3.45 per cent and 1.08 per cent respectively. Constructiona Materials and Al Maha Ceramics decreased 3.33 per cent and 2.50 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index retreated 0.20 per cent to end at 2,384.51 points. OIFC and Al Jazeera Services gained 1.01 per cent and 0.91 per cent respectively. Omantel and Ooredoo lost 3.33 per cent, 1.72 per cent and 0.77 per cent respectively.
