Muscat: Sohar Port and Freezone recorded 15,565,439 Freight Tons (FRT) of cargo being handled during the first quarter of 2018, according to statistics from the company.
Of that amount, 8,410,601 FRT were dry bulk, 4,670,248 FRT were liquid bulk, and 467,012 were break-bulk cargo. Additionally, 2,017,578 containers were also recorded.
The total number of FRT received in Q1 was a 3,558,200 FRT increase on the year before, when the total amount of FRT during the same period stood at 12,007,239.
Sohar Port and Freezone were called on by 857 vessels during the first quarter of 2018, up from 515 vessels last year.
