Abide by safety norms, PACDA tells firms, workers in Oman

Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) has urged employers and employees at industrial establishments to abide with the safety norms issued by it and not to erect temporary structures around their main premises.
The authority has also asked them not to store hazardous materials in violation of applicable regulations. It also called for periodical maintenance of alarm and fire control systems at such establishments in to avoid any accidents and losses.
The number of accidents had fallen by 14 in 2017 to 54 from 68 in 2016, it added .
