Muscat: A protocol on amendment of the air transport agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and Qatar was signed on Monday.
The signing comes within the efforts of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) for enhancement of the air transport system .
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Sultanate Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Za’abi, Chief Executive Officer of the PACA. It was signed on behalf of the Qatari side by Abdulla bin Nasser Al Subaey, chairman of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA).
The agreement stresses the freedom of the air transport market in terms of airfare and air transport services to enable aviation companies fix the tariff of air transport based on the business considerations prevailing at the market at the time of operation of air transport between the two countries in light of the air transport agreement signed between the two countries in 2007.
The agreement enables national aviation companies to operate any number of flights between the two countries.
