Muscat: Riding on Mustansar Hussain’s superb 67 off 39 balls, National Bank of Oman (NBO) trounced RAHRC by 33 runs in the final to win the T20 Intermediate Cup Knockout title at Muscat Municipality Ground II in Al Amerat.
Batting first, NBO amassed 190 for seven in 20 overs thanks to Mustansar’s brilliant batting. Opener Syed Arfan Ali (56 off 43) and Ismail Ghulam Al Balushi (25 off 12) were the other notable scorers. Mohammed Firoz and Muhammed Altaf bagged two wickets each.
RAHRC struggled to keep up with the mounting run rate and could manage only 157 for eight in 20 overs. Nandkumar Bhaskarrao (44 off 32) and Naheem Pasha (39 off 35) were the leading scorers.
Manas Kapoor was once again the leading wicket-taker for NBO, claiming three for 30 while Shahid Mughal took two for 34.
Later, Oman Cricket board member Pankaj Khimji presented the winners trophy to NBO captain Ramesh Viswanathan while Faris Said Ali Al Zadjali of RAHRC received the runners-up trophy.
