Four expats arrested for bid to smuggle 12,000 litres of diesel

Muscat: Four expats were arrested when their attempt to smuggle diesel was busted by the Coast Guard patrol.
According to officials from ROP, the expats were attempting to smuggle 12,000 litres in Omani waters near the coast of Khasab. Two out of the four were under the influence of drugs.
An official from the ROP revealed, “The boat was carrying four Asian nationals attempting to smuggle 12,000 litres of diesel, and two of them were found under the influence of drugs”.
The boat was later towed to the Khasab Port and the suspects were handed over to the authorities for legal action.
