Muscat: A new online magazine called ‘Wa ma Yastarun,’ which will help in better interaction between the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and other parties involved has been launched by the Ministry.
The magazine was launched by Dr. Hamad bin Khalfan Al Naamani, Director General of Planning and Development at the Ministry, at an event that was also attended by a number of officials, media institutions and pioneers in social networking.
At the event, Dr. Mia Al Habsi, Director of the Media Department, said, “We live in a digital age and through this magazine, we want to keep up with the developments in the online world.”
A video was also screened on this occasion, explaining the functions and different sections of the magazine. There was also a caricature drawing session by Raiya Al Maskery, portraying the impact of social media on our daily lives.
The first issue of the magazine features an interview with His Excellency Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri, Chairman of the State Council.
It also includes articles and journalistic reports about cooperation between the education and economic sectors.
The first issue also includes a number of contributions by students from in the Sultanate as well as abroad in the form of video clips and articles.

It is worth mentioning that the magazine brings to light various aspects of the higher education sector for the benefit of both, local and international, audiences.
It will work to attract writers from different parts of the world and will feature more investigative reports and interviews with iconic personalities in the education sector in its later editions.
A section for parents and teachers is also available in the e-magazine, where they can discuss their ideas and issues.
The online magazine also features the most important, latest studies and researches, and local and international innovations in the field of higher education.
