State Council's social committee meets to prevent accidents involving children

Muscat: The Social Committee of the State Council hosted officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday, to discuss ways to reduce accidents involving children.
The meeting was chaired by Hon. Dr. Hamad Bin Sulaiman Al Salami, Head of the Committee, in the presence of members of the committee and the Secretariat staff.
The Committee discussed the level of coordination between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and various parties to reduce child accidents, the programs available to protect children from accidents, the effectiveness of these programs and their types.
Further on, It discussed the factors contributing to accidents and procedures or Proposals that may contribute to reducing accidents such as change in laws, legislation, supervision and follow-up, adding to the committee's discussion with ministry officials on ways to raise awareness of the risk factors of child accidents.
The delegation of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry included Nawal Bint Suwaid bin Said Abriya, head of the Food and Agricultural Products Division, Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saeed Al Ma'amari, head of mechanical and metal products specifications, and Eng. Idris bin Hassan bin Abbas Al Sanan, civil engineer.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Committee reviewed the issues on its agenda and took the appropriate decisions.
