News Rewind: Rain dominates headlines this week

Heavy rain in many parts of Sultanate continued to dominate the news agenda in Oman this week.
1) Heavy rain fell in Rustaq, Suwaiq and Ibri resulting in overflowing of wadis, cutting off roads and prompting authorities to close school. This was the best-read story on timesofoman.com this week.
2) A touching video made to pay tribute to the FlyDubai crash victims published on YouTube by cedarjet201 was the most watched video on our website. The FlyDubai plane crashed in southern Russia with 62 people on board.
3) The issue of the online e-visa required for GCC expats to travel into the UAE has resurfaced with a fresh notice coming from Emirates Airline say as of April 29 the restrictions are back in place. This was the third best story of the week.
4) All educational certificates need to be attested by the Ministry of Higher Education before someone joins a job in the private or public sector in Oman, the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE). This was the fourth best story read online.
5) Number five spot on the most read story was an earthquake near the Salalah coast on Tuesday. Earthquake measuring 4.3 on Richter scale occurred in the Arabian Sea near the Salalah coast, according to an official at Sultan Qaboos University Earthquake Monitoring Center.
