Muscat: The status of the sports clubs in the Sultanate was among the issues discussed at a meeting of the State Council Social Committee on Monday.
The Social Committee of the State Council held its fifth meeting of the third annual sitting of the sixth term under the chair of the Dr. Hamad bin Sulaiman Al Salmi, Head of the Committee.
The Committee hosted Sheikh Rashad bin Ahmed Al Hinai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports Affairs and some of the ministry's officials, as part of the committee's study on the services provided by the sports clubs and ways to benefit from these services to serve the community.
The Committee discussed with the ministry's officials the status of the sports clubs in the Sultanate, their most important services, the challenges and difficulties facing the work of the clubs and suggestions for solutions to develop clubs and raise them to meet the ambitions and needs of the community.
The hosting comes in order to enrich the study with proposals and opinions that will develop clubs, and familiarise with the efforts exerted by the ministry in this regard.
