More than a third of crimes are committed by youth

Omani and expat youth accounted for 39 per cent of all crimes committed in the Sultanate in 2017, according to data from the country's statistics agency.
The National Centre for Statistics and Information has issued a report containing the indicators and characteristics of Omani youth.
The total number of offenders in the Sultanate was 20,800, of which youth aged between 18 and 29 years represented 39 per cent of all crimes committed.
A total of 4,065 Omani youths committed crimes last year.
