Camel smuggler reined in by Oman police

Buraimi: A man who tried to smuggle seven camels into Oman has been arrested by police.

Royal Oman Police arrested the camel smuggler, and in another incident caught a bootleg booze smuggler who attempted to bring 21,000 bottles of alcohol into the country.

Both incidents happened in the Buraimi governorate and police there say they arrested an Arab national accused of attempting to bring alcoholic beverages into the Sultanate in a truck. The camel smuggler confessed to his crimes, police say, and the defendants were referred to the judicial authorities to complete the legal proceedings.
