Korean embassy in Oman to celebrate national day

Muscat: The Korean embassy in Oman has planned a week full of events to celebrate its National Foundation Day.

Also known as the "Festival of the Opening of Heaven", Tangun Day or Gaecheon-gol, Foundation Day commemorates the traditional founding of Korea by Tangun in 2333 B.C. Here are all the plans for Korean week:

The Korean Embassy will host a reception at the Diplomatic Areas at the embassy in Al Khuwair (by invitation only) on the 30th of October from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

On 31st of October, guests can enjoy Korean music and dance performance at the American British Academy from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

While on the 2nd and 3rd of November, the embassy will be hosting a 'Korean movie night' at City Cinema in Muscat Grand Mall. The film 'Ode to my Father' will be playing on the 2nd and ' Sori, Voice from the Heart' will be showing on the 3rd.

To end the week, there will be a taekwondo competition for the Korean Ambassador's Trophy at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. The Kukkiwon Taekwondo team will demonstrate the beauty and strength of Taekwondo.
