Oman to host sovereign and pension funds’ meeting

Muscat: Oman, represented by the State General Reserve Fund (SGRF), is hosting the Co-Investment Roundtable of Sovereign and Pension Funds (CROSAPF) Working Committee meeting on March 22 and 23 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Muscat.
CROSAPF members are sovereign wealth and pension funds from around the world. It brings together investment professionals of public funds for presentations and in-depth discussions on global trends and recent issues related to investing.
It gives investors, from around the world, an opportunity to exchange knowledge and introduce the investment opportunities in their respective countries to co-invest. The Sultanate will have the opportunity to showcase and invite the global investors to participate in its upcoming economic, development, and production projects.
In the meeting, the sovereign and investment funds will discuss a range of issues and the factors that may play a role in making investment decisions, including global trends and socio-economic variables that affect the investments in short- and long-term strategies. The meeting will also provide an opportunity for participants and members to share and exchange their experiences for the benefit of co-investments.
Abdulsalam Al Murshidi, executive president of State General Reserve Fund, stressed on the importance of such meetings that provide an opportunity to promote promising investment opportunities offered by the Sultanate, and at the same time, to look at others experiences and opportunities.
"SGRF’s joining to CROSAPF last year's reflects our belief in the importance of knowledge, experience and information exchange with our counterparts around the world, which in return, will benefit our investments; thereby achieving a more sustainable returns for our future generations. This forum will also provide an opportunity to the Omani funds and investments institutions to get to know their counterparts in the world and build a vast network of relationships to exchange experiences," he added.
CROSAPF holds two meetings a year, the first is organised in the spring of each year and attended by a wide range of executives and representatives of international investment institutions. While the summit is held in the autumn of each year which will be attended by the heads of the members and financial institutions, and international personalities and government officials.
