Muscat: Marmul Travel and Tours emerged the winners of the KAC Cup football tournament organised by the Kuwait Airways at the Muscat Club ground on Saturday.
According to a press statement, the Kuwait Airways conducted football tournament for their top travel agents in Oman. Chief guest Fahad Al Metairi, the Ambassador of Kuwait, presided over the prize-giving ceremony and handed over the trophies.
In his remarks, Fahad Al Metairi said he was pleased to witness the final matches and appreciated the participating teams for their enthusiasm in sports. He wanted Kuwait Airways to make regular sports events as it will help the working professionals in travel trade to be fit and healthy by participating in sports event.
He also thanked Kuwait Airways for organising such a wonderful event.
Kuwait Airways Chief Commercial Officer Philip Saunders said ‘such tournaments help Kuwait Airways to build confidence and good rapport with our travel partners for achieving the set objectives’.
A total of 16 top travel agents in Oman have participated in the tournament, where Majan International Agencies Travel & Tourism LLC settled for the runners-up place behind eventual champions Marmul Travel and Tours.
The best uniformed team award went to Akbar Travel and Tourism and the best disciplined team prize was claimed by Fahad Express Travel and Tourism.
The tournament was supported by Mathir LLC, Hormuz Grand Hotel, Al Nahda Resort, Pepsi Oman, Thuraya water, Sweets of Oman and Atyab Bakery by giving away free vouchers and samples to visiting public throughout the tournament.
