Dar Al Atta’a marked World Food Day, celebrated on October 16 worldwide, by distributing foodstuffs to support families in need. A large number of volunteers, school students, and corporate staff participated in sorting and packaging of food that was collected by the association in the past few weeks. The PDO staff and contractors too collaborated in this and donated food items. They donated non-perishable food, such as sugar, rice, pasta, tea, coffee, flour in response to an appeal made by Dar Al Atta’a. The association also received foodstuffs like rice, flour, oil, sugar, pasta, and other food items as part of donations from a number of schools, companies, and individuals.
A number of schools, corporate, and volunteer students took part in the screening and packaging process, which was a result of the social responsibility of members of the community. The considerable number of volunteers and the amount of donation received reflected the charitable spirit of the people of Oman.
The Muscat International School, The Amman International School, The American International School, The International Pioneers, The British School, The French School, The Qaboos Private School, The Model Crimea, and The Shams Al Ma’aref School also participated in this.
