Muscat: Authorities at Oman Airports have refuted claims that flights will be cancelled and roads will be closed today (November 11, 2018), in order to accommodate the official inauguration of the Muscat International Airport.

In a statement online Oman Airports said, "Getting ready to celebrate the official opening of Muscat Airport tomorrow (November 11), all flights [will] operate as scheduled without any delay or change."
This announcement came after rumours circulating on social media claimed that roads will be closed and flights will be cancelled or delayed during the ceremony.
Authorities also added that passengers departing from the airport during the event could view the ceremony on "big live-feed screens” and could also receive “amazing gifts”.
