Indian School Muscat students shine at CBSE National Athletic Meet

Muscat: Indian School Muscat students did exceptionally well in the 20th CBSE National Athletic Meet held from December 26 to December 30, 2015 at the N H Goel World School, Raipur, India.
Over 1,50,000 athletes from CBSE affiliated schools in India and the Gulf Countries, who had qualified for the Nationals at various cluster athletic meets conducted in various locations, competed at the event.
In the under-19 boys’ category, Alfred Menezes, Jeryl Jacob, Mohammad Hisham, and Mohammed Ali Iqbal and in under-16 girls’ category, Bernice Thambiraja, Anoushka Punja, Jennifer Catherine and Anakha Anil made the school proud, defeating strong contenders and bringing home silver medals in the 4x100 meters relay race and making it a reason for double exhilaration.
The athletics event was exceptionally significant for ISM as the team experienced great joy and pride from having obtained the unique credit of winning athletic medals in all the CBSE National Athletic Meets held so far in different venues across India.
Under the supervision and training of Coach John Abraham, the total number of medals won during various CBSE National Athletic Meets so far has grown to 99.
Principal Srinivas K. Naidu, Senior Vice Principal Deep Wilson and the entire ISM fraternity congratulated the participants, their coach and the Physical Education Department for this accomplishment.
