Water bottles confiscated, destroyed by consumer watchdog in Oman

Muscat: A significant amount of water bottles have been confiscated and destroyed, for not conforming to the standard specifications, according to a statement by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP).
The operation was carried out by the Department of Consumer Protection in Al Dakhliyah Governorate, in cooperation with the Municipality of Izki. The administration officers were the first to discover the bottles as they carried out their daily inspections the markets.
Water bottles that have been improperly stored in unhygienic and unhealthy conditions have also been discovered by the PACP in Al Dakhliyah. Samples have been confiscated for further examination by the Food Control Laboratory of the Directorate General of Regional Municipalities in the region.
The Public Authority for Consumer Protection called upon all merchants and suppliers to abide by the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations to avoid legal accountability.
